Throwback Thursday: A Simple Act, Growing Strong (July 2025)
We were delighted to feature in the July 2025 newsletter of the Commonwealth Association of Science, Technology & Mathematics Educators (CASTME).
In January 2023, Lady Tunnicliffe visited Sreepur Village in Bangladesh and planted a lemon tree to inaugurate an orchard. Supporters were invited to sponsor trees in memory of loved ones. Lemons are widely used in local cooking, making the orchard both meaningful and practical.
Two years on, that tree has borne fruit and is part of a thriving area – a lovely example of planting seeds, both literally and metaphorically, for the future.
