Cricket Glory for Our Girls' Team

We are absolutely thrilled to share that our Sreepur Village girls have been crowned champions of the Girls' Cricket Tournament 2026, beating Tepir Bari Ansar High School by 8 wickets in a nail-biting final.

The tournament launched on 5th January with seven local schools taking part. After a month of exciting matches, our team made it through to the final alongside Tepir Bari Ansar High School.

Our girls won the toss and chose to field first. The opposition put up a strong fight, scoring 88 runs in 10 overs with Munni their star batter, hitting 35 runs from 25 balls.

But our team was not to be outdone. With quiet confidence and superb teamwork, they chased down the target with 8 wickets in hand and 2 balls to spare. The standout moment came from Joty, who smashed a brilliant half-century, scoring 59 runs from just 28 balls. She was named Player of the Match for her incredible performance.

Our founder Pat Kerr conducted the toss and later presented the championship trophy alongside Mahbubur Rahman Joynal, Managing Director of Hotel Purbani.

This is what empowerment looks like. These girls are learning so much more than cricket. They are building confidence, leadership skills and belief in themselves.
