About the Foundation
Craft as a Path to Independence
The Sreepur Mothers Artisan Foundation is the creative heart of Sreepur Village. It is the organisation behind every handmade product that leaves Bangladesh carrying a piece of a mother’s story with it.
When mothers arrive at Sreepur Village they often come with nothing: no income, no confidence, no belief in what the future might hold. The Foundation gives them something powerful in return. Through vocational training in tailoring, weaving, embroidery, and craft, they develop real, marketable skills that stay with them for life.
These are not just things to keep hands busy. They are how women build financial independence, support their children, and step back into their communities with pride.
Since 1989, Sreepur Village has supported more than 5,000 mothers and children on this journey.

The Sreepur Mothers Artisan Foundation holds guaranteed membership of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), one of the most respected fair trade bodies in the world. This is not a logo we display lightly.
WFTO membership means our entire operation is independently verified against ten strict principles, covering everything from fair pay and safe working conditions to environmental responsibility and full transparency. Every product we sell meets these standards without exception.
