Dame Sarah Storey Receives Honorary Doctorate

We are delighted to share that our Patron, Dame Sarah Storey, has been awarded an Honourary Doctorate from the University of Sheffield.

Earlier this week, Dame Sarah was honoured at a special ceremony that also marked the installation of Andy Haldane as the University’s 9th Chancellor. The day brought together tradition and celebration, as Dame Sarah joined graduating students in receiving recognition for their achievements.

Reflecting on the experience, Dame Sarah said: “A fun day mixed into a time honoured ceremony, wonderful hospitality and alongside graduating students who all had their own moment on the stage to tip their hat and receive their degree certificate.”She added her congratulations to all the students she watched graduate, describing the occasion as “uplifting and inspiring for us all.”Dame Sarah has been a passionate supporter of Sreepur Village for many years, using her platform to raise awareness of our work supporting vulnerable single mothers and their children in Bangladesh. Her dedication to empowering women and children through education and opportunity mirrors the values at the heart of everything we do.
