When the Rain Falls, Their Determination Shines Brighter
As the monsoon rains pour down, most children hurry indoors to stay warm and dry. But for the children of the SUCCESS Project, the rain is simply another challenge they must overcome in pursuit of their dreams.
With school bags held close and hopeful hearts, they walk through the rain because they know that every school day brings them one step closer to a better future. Their uniforms may be wet, but their determination never fades.
Behind every step is a dream of breaking the cycle of poverty and building a life filled with dignity and opportunity.
Behind these children stand extraordinary mothers whose love is measured not by words but by sacrifice. Many are the sole breadwinners of their families. They work as domestic workers, run small tea stalls, sell homemade pitha, or earn a modest income through other small businesses. During the monsoon, every rainy day can mean fewer customers, reduced earnings, and even greater uncertainty. Yet they continue their struggle with remarkable courage because giving up is never an option when their children's future is at stake.
The SUCCESS Project supports 50 vulnerable children living in Dhaka by providing a small monthly financial contribution to help ease the burden on their families and encourage children to remain in school.
The children attend nearby schools in Nikunja-2, close to Dhaka International Airport, and after classes come to our Dhaka centre for two hours each day. For many of them, this is much more than a learning space, it is somewhere they can simply be children. In homes where there is little room to play, study, or relax, they find comfort, friendship, and hope. They watch television together, play indoor games, receive guidance with their studies, and spend time in an environment filled with care and encouragement.
For these children, the SUCCESS Project is a place where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to dream beyond the limitations of poverty. For their mothers, it is the reassurance that they are not fighting alone.
Together, we can help ensure that no child loses their education because of poverty, and no hardworking mother has to carry the weight of hope entirely on her own.
