Rearing a goat gives a mother a real path towards self-sufficiency for herself and her family. Many of our mothers, especially those living in the rural char communities of northern Bangladesh, keep a goat for its milk. If a mother chooses to sell her goat, she can often make back 50 to 60% of the original cost - a meaningful return that puts money back in her hands.
