The Sreepur Village, Bangladesh
Sreepur Village, Bangladesh serves as a refuge and safe haven for mother-led families. Every year we provide approximately 150 single mothers and their children with basic needs and a secure and loving environment; we also equip mothers with crucial livelihood skills and knowledge to provide for themselves and their families over the long-term future. Each family can live on-site up to 3 years. Since 1989 we have provided long-term support to thousands of single mothers and their children to help them break out of intergenerational poverty and towards financial independence.
Due to widespread poverty, single mothers in Bangladesh often feel like they have no option but to place their children in institutional care. We are the only residential organisation in Bangladesh that offers long-term training and development to mothers while ensuring families remain together.
